Rhonda Evans has been asked to be a member of the B Lab Health and Safety Working Group. B Lab is a nonprofit organization dedicated to using the power of business to solve social and environmental problems.
- Summer/Fall 2006. Director Jabril Bensedrine assumes responsibilities as Director of Development for the MRI Institute for Biomedical Research in Detroit, Michigan. Through ELM, Jabril will lead the design, financing, and implementation of new strategic ventures building on the Institute's biomedical imaging innovations. The institute is led by Dr. E. Mark Haacke, a leading biomedical physicist in the development of new magnetic resonance imaging technologies.
- Summer 2006. Sean Larkin joins ELM as Senior Consultant for Technology and Information Management.
- Spring 2006. The City of San Francisco Department of Health releases a feasibility study for a new Healthcare Fund authored by ELM directors Rhonda Evans and Jabril Bensedrine in cooperation with the University of California at Berkeley. The feasibility study is available on the San Francisco Health Plan website (click [here] to download the pdf file).
- Spring 2006. Director Jabril Bensedrine contributes to a competitive intelligence study on behalf of one of Microsoft Corporation's strategic business segments.
- Winter 2005/6. Health Advocacy Solutions, a new healthcare venture supported by ELM Research and Strategy through its initial project incubation phases, launches successfully in Portland, Oregon.
- Fall 2005. ELM Research and Strategy obtains a research contract with the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF). ELM experts will conduct a needs assessment and feasibility study for a new trans-disciplinary PhD program at UCSF, one of the leading health sciences universities.
- Fall 2005. ELM Research and Strategy opens new office in Portland, Oregon.
- Summer 2005. ELM Research and Strategy provides a national organization with strategic assessment of a multinational seaport operator for a comparative study coordinated with faculty at the University of Massachusetts and Cornell University.
- Spring 2005. In cooperation with the Institute of Industrial Relations at the University of California, ELM undertakes a feasibility study for a new City of San Francisco health insurance initiative.
- Winter 2004/5. ELM reorganizes as ELM Research and Strategy, LLC, and welcomes Dr. Jabril Bensedrine as full partner.
- Fall 2004. ELM opens new office in New York City.
- Fall 2004. Projects for which ELM consultants and associates have conducted feasibility studies and other consulting work reach the milestone of a total cumulated investment value of $500 million.
- Summer 2004. Rhonda Evans assumes role as Director of Research for The McHenry Group, a financial consultancy based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Summer 2004. Rhonda Evans accepts research associate position at the Center for Culture, Organizations, and Politics at the University of California at Berkeley.
- Spring 2004. ELM develops a training program in statistical research methods at the request of a large corporate client as part of continuing education.
- Summer 2003. Jason McNichol presents results of ongoing research on international voluntary environmental certification programs at conference on transnational regulation at the University of Uppsala, Sweden.
- Summer 2003. Rhonda Evans begins postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute on Labor and Employment.
- Fall 2003. NPR affiliate radio interviews ELM director Rhonda Evans on military personnel policy.
- Summer 2003. The Social Science Research Council in New York City recruits ELM director Jason McNichol for program development and management.
- Spring 2003. ELM provides consulting services to the Social Science Research Council in New York City.
- Winter 2002/3. ELM provides survey administration and analysis services for University of California research unit.
- Winter 2002/3. Chapter authored by Jason McNichol and Jabril Bensedrine on US-EU conflicts over bio-safety regulation published in edited volume by Edward Elgar.
- Winter 2002/3. Article by Jason McNichol on politics of forest certification appears in edited volume.
- Fall 2002. ELM Senior Associate Jabril Bensedrine begins providing business consulting and project development services in Michigan through Kenneth J. Dalto and Associates, one of the most reputable business and financial consulting firms in Michigan.
- Fall 2002. ELM directors Rhonda Evans and Jason McNichol receive Ph.D. degrees from UC Berkeley.
- Spring 2002. ELM Senior Associate Jabril Bensedrine organizes international multi-stakeholder workshop at UC Berkeley on challenges of regulation of genetically modified organisms with representatives of US and European governments, NGOs, trade associations, corporations, and scientific experts.
- Spring 2002. Police Quarterly publishes an article co-authored by Jason McNichol based on original research provided by ELM.
- Fall 2001. ELM Director Jason McNichol begins teaching at the University of California at Berkeley on the politics of global trade regulation.
- September 2001. A study based on research provided by ELM is published in Armed Forces and Society.
- Summer 2001. ELM formalizes a group of expertise around environment, health, and safety issues.
- Summer 2001. ELM director Jason McNichol is invited to the University of Freiburg (Germany) as a Guest Professor, where he leads seminars on recent trends in third party certification of environmental and labor standards as well as current debates over international development strategies.
- Summer 2001. Jason McNichol and Jabril Bensedrine present research on conflicts over the regulation of genetically-engineered food at a joint INSEAD-University of California conference in Paris on American and European perspectives on genetically modified organisms.
- Spring 2001. ELM Senior Associate Jabril Bensedrine develops a two-day intensive seminar for junior managers on "Introducing an Innovation in a Hostile Institutional Environment." He leads the seminar at client locations and as part of Business School Executive Education Programs in Paris, across France, and in the United States.
- Winter 2000. The Commonwealth Club of California and a University of California think tank sponsor an international research conference drawing upon studies conducted by ELM researchers.

- Summer 2000. ELM Senior Associate Jabril Bensedrine and Professor David Vogel (UC Berkeley), are awarded a UC Berkeley – French Ministry of Foreign Affairs grant to conduct research on French and American debates around the regulation and international trade of GMOs.
- Summer 2000. ELM Senior Associate Jabril Bensedrine presents research on international debates regarding GMOs at the European Group on Organization Studies (EGOS) at the Helsinki School of Economics in Finland.
